31st Annual Downtown Orlando Martin Luther King, Jr. Parade on Saturday, January 17, 2015 at 10:00AM

The Southwest Orlando Jaycees Parade Committee cordially invites you to participate in the 31st Annual Downtown Orlando Martin Luther King, Jr. Parade on Saturday, January 17, 2015 at 10:00AM as we reflect on Dr. King s legacy of peace and unity. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was an integral part of the Civil Rights Movement which laid the foundation for the equality of treatment and opportunity enjoyed in America and around the world today. The theme for the 2015 King Day celebration is “Remember, Celebrate, and Act….King’s Legacy of Courage for Our World.”
As we strive to commemorate the 51st Anniversary of the March on Washington and the UNITY established on that day; we ask corporations, civic organizations, homeowner associations, youth groups, and churches alike to highlight their presence and show support for this effort and our local community. We are hopeful that the 2015 parade and celebration will remind our attendees that we depend on each other in our community to prosper and keep growing.
Participating in the event is not only fun but it can also provide you with an excellent way to market your organization or business at a minimal expense. We are asking all participants to embrace this year s theme in their submissions. Because we all enjoy an eventful parade we are encouraging decorative floats and discouraging a traditional motorcade for this year s parade. Entries are limited, so please note the application deadline date and submit your application with required attachments, as early as possible.
The highly requested Gospel Showcase is also returning The SOUND! , which is a showcase of the area s most talented Praise & Worship teams are invited to perform and compete before a panel of local celebrity judges and you! We solicit and encourage all Central Florida churches, residents and communities to participate and contribute to this musical showcase as we expand our local celebration of the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
Parade Entry Deadline: Tuesday, January 7, 2015
TheSOUND! Praise Team Entry Deadline: Tuesday, January 7, 2015

The JAYCEE Creed

We Believe: That faith in God gives meaning and purpose to human life; That the brotherhood of man transcends the sovereignty of nations; That economic justice can best be won by free men and women through free enterprise; That government should be of laws rather than of men and women; That earth's great treasure lies in human personality; And that service to humanity is the best work of life.
