Remember, Celebrate, and Act….King's Legacy of Peace with Justice for Our World!

The Southwest Orlando Jaycees Parade Committee cordially invites you to participate in the 34th Annual Downtown Orlando Martin Luther King, Jr. Parade on Saturday, January 13, 2018 at 10:00AM as we reflect on Dr. King s legacy of peace with justice for our world. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was an integral part of the Civil Rights Movement which laid the foundation for the equality of treatment and opportunity enjoyed in America and around the world today. The theme for the 2018 King Day celebration is “King: His Voice, His Teachings, His Love for Humanity.”

In remembrance of Dr. King's life and legacy we are soliciting a record number of participants for the Holiday Parade. This year we expect an estimated 8,000 spectators at the parade. We are hopeful that the 2018 parade and celebration will remind our attendees “the most precious gifts in life––like children and love and time––must never be taken for granted.”

Participating in the event is not only fun but it can also provide you with an excellent way to market your organization or business at a minimal expense! We are asking all participants to embrace this year’s theme in their submissions. Because we all enjoy an eventful parade we are encouraging decorative floats and discouraging a traditional motorcade for this year’s parade. Entries are limited, so please note the application deadline date and submit your application with required attachments, as early as possible.

Parade Entry Deadline: Tuesday, January 2, 2018
